02 / WHY DRIFTLESS EXISTS

Products we’d use.
A brand of our own.

Driftless began with a simple idea: create hobby products we would actually want to use ourselves.

We’re building a brand around thoughtful design, quality, and function—with a distinct identity inspired by the Driftless region we call home. Starting with Premium Matte Sleeves, our vision includes binders and future accessories.

SLEEVE GUIDES / READY FOR YOUR NEXT GAME

A little care.
A lot more play.

Start with the right fit.
Keep your deck ready for the table.

01 / FIT & COUNT

Card sleeve
size guide.

Driftless sleeves: 66 × 91 mm. Check card fit, plan your pack count, and make room for every layer.

Read the sizing guide

Start with the cards in your hand. The right card sleeves should fit comfortably, cover the card, and work with the way you play and store your deck.

Check your card dimensions first

Measure the width and height of a card in millimeters, or check the card publisher’s specifications. Compare those measurements with the sleeve maker’s recommended card size. Sleeve dimensions can describe the outside of the sleeve rather than the cards it fits, so check which measurement is listed.

Standard, smaller-format, oversized, and specialty cards can need different sleeves. A game name alone does not tell you the size of every card in its range. Thick cards and unusual formats deserve a separate fit check.

Try one card before sleeving the deck

Use a spare card of the same size to check the fit. Guide it in gently and keep the corners straight. If the card catches, bows, or needs force, stop and recheck the sleeve size. Leave valuable cards aside until you are comfortable with the fit.

Plan your sleeve count

Count every card you want to sleeve, including a sideboard, tokens, or other extras you choose to protect. Driftless Premium Matte Card Sleeves come with 100 sleeves per pack.

  • 60 cards plus 15 extras need 75 sleeves: one 100-pack covers that count.
  • 100 cards plus 10 extras need 110 sleeves: plan for two 100-packs.

Keeping a few matching spares makes replacements easier. These examples are sleeve-count calculations; check your own game’s deck requirements.

Thinking about double sleeving?

Double sleeving uses a fitted inner sleeve inside a regular sleeve. The extra layer makes the deck thicker, so check the sleeve pairing and deck-box space before committing to a whole deck. Follow the inner sleeve maker’s loading instructions and never force a tight combination.

Choosing Driftless sleeves

Driftless Premium Matte Card Sleeves measure 66 × 91 mm and are labeled standard size. Compare your card measurements with the recommended card fit and allow room for the card to slide in gently. Specific game and inner-sleeve compatibility are still being confirmed. If fit matters for your setup, ask us before ordering.

02 / CARE & STORAGE

Good habits.
More game nights.

Simple sleeve care, thoughtful storage, and a quick check before the next shuffle.

Read the sleeve care guide

A few small habits can make looking after your deck easier. Start with a clean play space, handle your cards gently, and check your sleeves as part of getting ready for a game.

Set up a clean, dry play area

Clear away crumbs and grit before you sleeve or shuffle cards. Use clean, dry hands and a clean playmat or table. Keep open drinks away from the deck: a sleeve’s opening can still let moisture reach the card.

Load cards gently

Check that the card and sleeve are free of visible debris. Open the sleeve carefully and guide the card in without bending its corners. If it catches or feels too tight, stop and check the size rather than pushing harder.

For double sleeving, follow the inner sleeve maker’s instructions and test the pairing first. Extra layers are a reason to check fit, not a reason to use extra force.

Store the deck with room to breathe

Choose a deck box that comfortably fits your fully sleeved deck. Check capacity again if you add inner sleeves, tokens, or dividers. The lid should close without crushing the cards or sleeve edges.

Store your collection somewhere dry, away from direct sunlight and heat. A sleeve is one part of your storage setup; it does not replace a suitable box or careful handling.

Check for wear before you play

Look for split seams, bent corners, creases, or obvious differences between sleeves. Replace damaged sleeves and check the condition of the rest of the deck. Matching spare sleeves are useful, but a noticeably worn deck may need a fresh set so the backs look consistent.

For organized play, check the event’s current sleeve requirements or ask an organizer. General care advice is not a promise that a particular sleeve or color meets every event’s rules.

What if a sleeve gets dirty?

If a sleeve is sticky, wet, damaged, or holding grit, move the card carefully into a fresh, dry sleeve. Keep liquids and cleaning products away from the cards. We do not currently provide a tested washing or chemical-cleaning method for Driftless sleeves.

Make it a pre-game habit

  • Clean surface and dry hands.
  • Check sleeve edges, seams, and backs.
  • Pack matching spares.
  • Close the deck box without pressure.
